Birth announcement: Lilianna Mary Grace and Lucia Virginia Rose!

A mama I did a private consultation for has let me know her twin girls have arrived! They have been given the gorgeous, meaningful names … Lilianna Mary Grace and Lucia Virginia Rose!

The mama writes,

I just wanted to let you know that our baby girls were born Monday 9/5/16 via emergency csection. They are 30 weekers so they are still in the NICU, please keep both girls in your prayers.

We chose the names

Lilianna Mary Grace and we call her Lily
and
Lucia Virginia Rose and we call her Lucy

Lily was 3lb2oz and Lucy was 3lb10oz. If you remember they are our rainbow babies, and I began the pregnancy at the Shrine to Our Lady of Guadalupe, everyday, praying a Novena for her intercession. After that each of my doctors appointments ended up on a Marian feast day, which I did not do intentionally. I decided very early that we would give the girls Marian names. During our consultation we discussed that Lucia wasn’t completely Marian but related to Mary. I have since found out that there is an Our Lady of Light and Lucia means light, so it is more Marian than we thought.

The most amazing sign from Our Lady though happened 3 days after they were born when our priest came to give me the anointing of the sick after my csection, he also offered to baptize our girls! On The Feast of the Nativity of Mary our girls were welcomed into the church. It was beautiful.”

Can you believe all the Marian connections!! These girls were covered by her mantle the whole pregnancy, and their amazing names reflect that so beautifully!

After the initial email, I received another update on how they’re doing:

Right now we are just working on getting Lily off oxygen and possibly off her IV tomorrow if she does well. Lucy is still adjusting to eating so we are hoping she starts tolerating her milk soon.”

Please keep these beautiful babies and their family in your prayers!

Congratulations to Mom and Dad and the girls’ handsomely named big brother Erick Bruce III, and happy birthday Lily and Lucy!!

The name of Mother Teresa

Mother Teresa’s being canonized tomorrow!!! 🎉🎉🎉 In honor of her, here’s a link to one of my favorite things of all time — her address at the 1994 National Prayer Breakfast in which she said, in front of then-President Clinton and his First Lady — who, as we all know, is currently running for the same office — that abortion is wrong wrong wrong. Such a lot of courage in such a tiny lady. ❤ (Updated to add: Her bit starts at the 48 minute mark.) (Also, I heard them say “ter-AY-sah” more than once!)

In honor of her big day, I knew I had to get the T(h)eresa entry added to the Sibling Project page, and I just finished it — I’ll be interested to hear what you all think of my conclusions! And if you know any bloggers with a Theresa or a Teresa, please let me know so I can link to them!

Happy day to all of Mother Teresa’s namesakes!!

Birth announcement: Kolbe Christopher!

I posted a consultation for B is for Bissonnette blogger Laura and her husband in July, and I’m over-the-moon excited to share that she’s had her baby — a little boy named Kolbe Christopher!

Laura writes,

We finally got to use our boy name (after roughly 9 years — we talked about it when we were just engaged!) Kolbe Christopher Bissonnette was born early (38 weeks) and is just perfection.  In case you happen to be interested in that sort of thing here’s his birth story.

As you know, we have love St. Maximilian Kolbe.  Chris and I met in Europe during our study abroad semester with the Franciscan University and began dating there about mid-semester.  During our semester we visited many beautiful sites in Europe.  The trip to Poland was one that deeply touched both of us.  We visited the Divine Mercy shrine and St. John Paul II’s birthplace and Auschwitz.  We were both familiar with Fr. Kolbe, but the trip included much more information about his story as well as a visit to the site where he was killed and the cell where he was imprisoned there.  His sacrifice, his incredible love of Our Lady and his work to spread Christ’s love imprinted themselves on our hearts forever and now we have a little man to entrust to his patronage.  And you know all about the significance of the middle name.  Thank you for your wonderful name selections.  I now have a wonderful store for the future as well should we be blessed with more little babes!

I just love how she’s all “in case you happen to be interested in that sort of thing” about Kolbe’s birth story — I LOVE birth stories!! I will read anyone’s anywhere and I’m guaranteed to cry. Birth is such a miracle every.single.time.

A fun tidbit is that when Laura asked me for the consultation she told me they’d had a particular name in mind for a boy since they were engaged, but she didn’t want to tell what it was, as she wanted all fresh suggestions. What a fun challenge! I didn’t guess it on my first go-round, but I did on my second 🙌 and I’m just delighted for Laura and Chris that they finally got to use their so handsome and super saintly boy name.

If you remember, Kolbe joins his beautifully named big sisters:

Kayla Cecilia
Elise Marianna
Ava Chantal
Sophie Rose

Congratulations to the whole family, and happy birthday Baby Kolbe!!

Birth announcement: Faustina Marie!

I did a private consultation a while ago for fashion maven Andrea from Momma in Flip Flops (web site and Instagram), and I was delighted to see on her Instagram that she had her baby — a little girl! — and gave her the beautiful name … Faustina Marie!

Little Miss joins big sibs:

Landen Joseph

Amelia Noelle

Brennan Andrew

Henrik Anthony

And is just as fashionable as her beautiful mama! Congratulations to the whole family, and happy birthday Baby Faustina!!

Birth announcement: Brendan Joseph!

You all remember the consultation I posted for Colleen at the Martin Family Moments blog  on St. Paddy’s Day? She’s gone and had her baby, her sixth boy 🎉💃🙌 , and she and her husband gave him the so-handsome name … Brendan Joseph!

She announced the wee man’s birth on Instagram the day he was born, but they didn’t announce the name until two days later (not that I was obsessively refreshing my Instagram feed and then being sure I missed it anyway and rushing over to Colleen’s feed to be sure or anything), and I’m just delighted — they have an Irish sensibility and, as she’d pointed out in her consultation, all their other boys have an N in their names so they kind of liked the idea of continuing that, so Brendan seems perfect, all in all.

The birth story’s up on her blog, which I just read and loved and cried over (as I do, every.time. I read a birth story), and lots of pictures of her littlest guy.

Congratulations to Colleen and her husband and big sibs John-Paul, Andrew, Eamon, Maggie, Xander, and Declan, and happy birthday Baby Brendan!!

Birth announcement: Taavi Orion!

I’d done a private consultation for Lynda, who was also the winner of the Annunciation Designs giveaway last week!, and she’s let me know her little guy has arrived and been given the amazingly handsome name … Taavi Orion!

Lynda writes,

Baby got here on Friday! His name is Taavi Orion (last minute change)! … My husband’s name is David so this was too perfect.”

What a great week for her! 😀 Excitingly for me, Taavi — a Finnish form of David — was one of the names I’d suggested to her after being inspired by this little Taavi — it’s such a cool name, I love it! He joins big sibs:

Mirai (meer-eye) Luna
Evander Sol
Aviva Estrella

What a family! Such beautiful names!!

Congratulations to all, and happy birthday Baby Taavi!!

Birth announcement: RoseMary Immaculata!

I posted a consultation for Cara and her husband last month — though they were expecting a little green bean 🌱 (=gender unknown), they were all set with ideas for a girl and only needed help with ideas for a boy. In the end it wasn’t needed, though, as they had a girl! Their Little Miss has been given the gorgeous name … RoseMary Immaculata!

Cara writes,

I wanted to let you know that baby number six, a little girl, arrived for us, on the First Saturday of this month.  The husband and I, looking at the calendar had agreed to use a Marian name for a daughter born on a Marian feast or First Saturday.  For any other day a girl would be Agnes.

The first Friday of this month was our Lady of the Snows or the Feast of Dedication of St. Mary Major where they drop white rose from the dome of the Chapel of Our Lady at St. Mary Major.  The following day was first Saturday.  For either of those days we agreed on RoseMary Immaculata.  RoseMary after the Rosary and the aforementioned roses.  We capitalized the M because it seemed like we should.  Immaculata is after the Immaculate heart of Mary.  I told my husband earlier in the week that I thought it was going to be a girl after the Blessed Mother.  Come Saturday morning after praying my rosary and attending Mass I went into labor and she was born later that day.

She was baptized today on the Feast of St. Maximilian Kolbe founder of the Militia of the Immaculata.

Thanks for your help, even though we didn’t have a boy!

I love all the significance behind each part of her name — what a great name story!! If you remember, RoseMary joins big sibs:

Blaise Gerard
Ambrose Lawrence
Benedict Augustine Joseph
Caecilia Majella
Anastasia Lucia

Congratulations to the whole family, and happy birthday Baby RoseMary!!

Birth announcement: Lucia Rose!

A mama I did a private consultation for has let me know her little girl has arrived — the beautifully named … Lucia Rose!! she’s named after Sr. Lucia of Fatima, and joins big siblings:

Gabriella Elizabeth
Dominic Robert
Aidan Robert
Gabriel Robert
Michael Robert
Raphael Jude (in heaven~late fetal demise)
Baby 2014 (in heaven~very early miscarriage, haven’t yet chosen a name)

Such great names! Some fun notes are that Robert is a family name (which I know you probably figured), and Gabriella goes by Ellie. How fun for them all to have a little girl after all those boys!

Congratulations to the whole family, and happy birthday Baby Lucia!!

Birth announcement: Cora Juliette!

I posted a consultation for Lisa from Joie de Vivre (which has since become A Pinch of Zest!) back in May, and she’s let me know her little green bean 🌱 has arrived — a beautiful little lady (!) with the beautiful name … Cora Juliette!

Lisa writes,

Hi Kate,

I just wanted to let you know we had a baby girl, born June 16th, and named her Cora Juliette. 🙂

We had a hard time settling on a girl name but a few hours before her birth decided on Cora after the Sacred Heart. Juliette was one we both liked a lot (and I’ve always loved “-ette” names!), so it was neat to re-read your Spotlight post and find out about all the saint connections to Juliette- we’ve taken on Bl. Juliette Verolot as one of her patron saints.

Thank you again for all your help! I always love reading your naming posts. 🙂 “

You guys! Cora Juliette!!! Cora for the Sacred Heart! And one of my all-time faves Juliette! Ahhhhhh I LOVE it!!! And so great to know about another holy Juliette! (I see she’s also known as Bl. Elisabeth-Julitte Verolot 😍)

If you remember, Cora joins her equally well-named big sisters:

Evangeline Grace (Evie)
Audrey Noelle
Heidi Josefina

What a beautiful bunch of girls! Congratulations to the whole family, and happy birthday Baby Cora!!

Birth announcement: Fulton Michael!

I posted a consultation for Monica and her husband back in May, and Monica’s let me know her little one has arrived — a boy! And they gave him the so-handsome name … Fulton Michael! He joins big sisters Cora Marie and Regina Marie (and brother in heaven Levi Alphonsus), and his mama writes,

Our son arrived today [August 8 — feast of St. Dominic], on Cora’s 5th birthday. My kids must love St. Dominic! After 4 painful hours of going back and forth on names, we decided to name him Fulton Michael. He’s doing great and I’m thankful he has a name now.

Thank you again for your time and suggestions! He was very close to having the middle name Clement, if we had gone with our other option.”

What a wonderful, meaningful name!! And look at that sweet baby face!! (Be sure to scroll past the picture, because there’s more beneath it!)

As a fun bonus, Monica also included a picture of her sister, who is now a novice with the Handmaids of the Heart of Jesus in New Ulm, MN. She thought we might enjoy hearing the names of the new novices — um, yes please!!! 😁😍

Look at those joyful Sisters! And their beautiful names! What a blessing Sr. Maria Benedicta is to Monica and her whole family! (If you click on that link I provided above to the Handmaids of the Heart of Jesus web site, you’ll see a little slideshow on the homepage of the profession ceremony — so moving!)

Congratulations to the whole family! Happy birthday Baby Fulton!! And congratulations to his auntie, Sr. Maria Benedicta!!
